Driver licensing


The State Office for Roads and Transport is responsible for the approval of exceptions to the Driving Licence Regulations (FeV). The driving licensing authorities of the city or rural district authorities are responsible for all other driving licence matters.
The State Office is also responsible for the recognition of assessment bodies for fitness to drive (BfF), of course leaders for holding special advanced seminars and of courses for the restoration of fitness to drive, of bodies providing first-aid training as well as the recognition or approval of a quality assurance system for the fitness to drive seminar and of courses for the restoration of fitness to drive.
